Flower question..stupid question, but I'm a guy and have no idea.?

I'm buying fresh cut flowers today and I'll be giving them to someone tomorrow. Do I put them in the refrigerator today/tonight to keep them or just leave them out?

Flower question..stupid question, but I'm a guy and have no idea.?
if they are roses ...keep them in the frige. and do not have any fruit in the frige either or that will cause the flower to open up faster.

as a floral designer, I would keep the fresh flowers in a cool place in cool water.

don't put an asprine, or 7-up in the water... just use cool tap water, and keep the leaves out of the water as this will cause bacteria growth in the water.
Reply:I would not put them in the fridge.Just keep them in fresh water.
Reply:Ask the florist when you pick them up. (It's not a stupid question - how do you learn if you don't ask!)
Reply:No problem. Go ahead and buy them, but put them in water (if you don't have a vase, you can get a cheap one at Wal-Mart). Don't worry about putting them in the fridge. Then, tomorrow, just wrap them up as they were when you bought them, and they'll still look great!
Reply:When you buy your fresh cut flowers, make sure you ask for a packet of flower preservative. As soon as you get home, get a container like a flower vase or similar to a vase, fill it with warm water, add the flower preservative. With sharp scissors or a knife, clip or cut about 1/2 inch off of the stems and then put the flowers right away into your container with the water mixed with preservative. Keep your flowers in a cool place away from direct sunlight. When you are ready to take the flowers to give to your "someone", put your flowers back in the plastic bag it was packaged in, and you can also add a few drops of the water into the bag to keep the flowers in moisture. Share this instruction with "someone" so that the flowers can be enjoyed for a few more days.
