When do flowers start to turn dead?

i just bought some fresh flowers from the grocery store and left them at this girls doorstep how soon will the flowers go bad? and it is night time

When do flowers start to turn dead?
awwww, that's sweet! They should be ok for a few hours... did you call to let her know to look on her doorstep? Or get someone else to call if you're shy? heh.

You can always put them in a jar of water if you do this again. Or wrap wet paper towels around the bottom and then aluminum foil wrap the towels so they stay wet but can be picked up without dripping. But that takes planning and it's the unplanned part of this that makes it even sweeter. YAY YOU!
Reply:these days get hot and flowers will wilt immediately. Never leave flowers on someone's doorstep (it's too late to retrieve them, just give her new flowers in person with an apology).
Reply:that would depend how fresh they were when you purchased them at the store. They could have arrived from the floral warehouse that day or they could have been in the store a week and ready to be tossed and you just happened to purchased befored they got tossed out which the case maybe and then they would be ready to die soon. Otherwise, if they were really fresh they should last about a week with clean , cool water.
Reply:depends if you water them or not!
Reply:they might be died in day time
Reply:It will depend on the temp but the should be ok for 4 -6 hours

they won't last long even in water after that though, but she will know how special they are
Reply:it really depends on the type of flower but most of the time 2-3 weeks
Reply:When they change different colors and are laying on the ground. Zing Zing
