What does it mean when someone says "you're not the freshest flower in the vase"?
"The freshest flower in the vase..."
"The sharpest tool in the shed..."
They both mean that you're not the best.

My neice is a great person, but she is certainly NOT the freshest flower in the family.

Reply:I doubt that it actually has anything to do with a foul odor. I would say it actually has something more to do with the fact that perhaps they don't think that your "elevator doesn't go all the way to the top floor". Maybe all your marbles aren't in one bag. I hope you said something when they said this......didn't you? Something? Anything?
