What can I use to help keep my dog from digging in my flower bed?

She loves to dig in fresh dirt.

What can I use to help keep my dog from digging in my flower bed?
Buy your dog a juicy artificial bone, and let him/her play with it for a few minutes everyday.

It really works...
Reply:blow up some balloons and put them just under the soil and hopfully when she hits one the noise will scare her enough to stop doing it. Or try pepper
Reply:lay chicken wire over the dirt and give the dog some where else to play, make it seem easier to dig in the other spot rather then your flowers
Reply:how about a fence, or at least keep your eye on the dog so you can correct it's actions
Reply:take away the dogs spade and hide it

bye
Reply:try a fence.
Reply:put her poo just under the surface in the are she digs. this usually stops them
Reply:i dunno
Reply:Roll up a newspaper. Swat him with it every time you catch him digging, be sure to tell him no when you do it. He is looking for some place cool to be, Buy him a small pool. Good luck.
Reply:shoot the dog
Reply:Cant wait for an answer...I gave up on my flowers a week ago, they are trashed...
Reply:Always supervise your dog. Whenever you let her out, go out with her and watch her. I started doing this with our 2 and now I don't have to fill in holes. I've read that putting their poo in the holes will deter them, but I've tried this and it doesn't work. Be wary of some solutions. I read to bury chicken wire just under the surface of the soil, but then when they try to dig, it cuts up their paws. Also I've heard to cut their nails really short and they will stop, again because it's hurting the paws. I don't like holes, but I would rather have holes than my dogs be in pain.
Reply:Bury your dogs poo in the garden and it will not go back... They don't play where they defecate
Reply:put a fence around the flower bed and make a spot with just fresh dirt in your yard for your dog to dig in.
Reply:get rid of the flower bed, and put concrete there. or you can always get rid of your dog. life is all about compromising
Reply:in your back yard supply fresh dirt every day.she'll dig there. trust me
Reply:First, get some balloons, then leave your dog inside, out of sight. Go out to your flower bed to the most recent hole and re dig it open, blow up the balloon, put in the hole and lightly cover with dirt to disguise. Repeat with another hole or more if you think necessary.

If your dog needs some encouragement towards the spot leave a small treat in the dirt. Now go let your dog out, repeat a few times if need be. Hopefully your dog will get a big enough surprise the first time.

Second, give your dog his/her own area. Similar to a child's sandpit. Make sure there is dirt and you can add sand. Get a large "recreational/dinosaur" bone from the butcher or dried pigs ear or similar from the pet shop, or all of the above. Bury them or half bury them depending how smart your dog is, and encourage your dog to use this area.
Reply:Concrete !!
