DOES putting 7-UP IN fresh cut FLOWERS REALLP HELP THEM LAST LONGER???

The method of action of the "7-Up" is as a sugar source as well as a slightly acidic product. The sugar keeps the flowers alive and the acid (citric acid in this case) actually slows bacterial and fungal growth that plugs the flower water conducting tubes.

One caveat: you need to add some bleach to inhibit growth of fungi/bacteria. Report It

Reply:i never heard of 7-up in flowers, but i was tought to cut stems at an angle and add an asprin to the water this has always worked for me.

i just use a teaspoon of sugar normal sugar stir let it desolve and then add flowers!
