Flower Price List?

Good day,

I am currently starting a small business of importing fresh cut roses and distributing to Florist / Hotels / Resteraunts / Nightclubs.

1st port of call will be cold calling business listed above and confirming an appointment with a Sales Rep, ie - ME

If i was to hand out a laminated price list with a small sales pitch would this draw in the client?

Also what do you think of the price??

RED ROSE - 0.60PENCE A STEM

- £55 - 100 STEMS SAVING OF £5

I dont want to go into the nitty gritty but i will be specialing in roses in varieties on Passion and first red which are used commonly by florists.

Please any suggestion will be appreciated.

Many Thanks :)

Don't get hung up on the price of your roses. Sell yourself on the service your provide. Demonstrate to your target markets that the service you provide is different to other suppliers and the value you bring. The price is then a secondary consideration.

Contact your local Business Link for free help and information on setting up your business. They also run courses in marketing your business, some of which are also free.

Your prices don't seem unreasonable but it depends on a couple of things. What do your customers usually pay? You don't have to undercut existing prices so long as you can show how your service or products are better. The other point is, do you know how many customers you need, buying how many roses to give you enough to make a living. In other words, how much profit are you making on each sale?

Good luck!
Reply:Hi There,

Good Post! I love everything about business, escpecially the marketing and advertising parts. These things make or break a business. I've found many ways to advertise my business that might help you. If you have a website, try SEO and PPC (pay per click from Google Adwords).

If you advertise your business offline, try handing out flyers, printing coupons, and yellowpage advertising).

The best method I've found yet is to buy business cards and hand them out everwhere. I buy them from a place online that gives the cards for free and only charges for shipping and handling. I hand these out to everyone I meet, and I leave them on cars where ever I go (I also got a free business card holder that looks really impressive)!
