God's promises stand forever..........................

Hello all! I pray that you are all doing well today.

Fresh flowers from the garden, bouquets of roses, tulips and daisies. They are a pleasant surprise when someone recieves them. They bring a happiness and bright cheerfulness wherever they are displayed. But, their beauty is short-lived. In a week or so they droop and fade and have to be thrown away.

Many of the things around us grow older and lose their usefulness. And we aren't very old before we realize how fragile and how brief our own lives are. Where do we find stability and lasting truth?

We can find it in God's unchanging Word. His Word will remain when all else fails. There will never be a time when we cannot put our total faith in His Word. That truth applies today as it did centuries ago and will apply for our children and grandchildren in years to come.

Dear friends, memorize it, meditate on it. When life seems shaky, reading God's Word renews our strength.

God's promises stand forever..........................
God's unchanging word????

Have you read the "Old" Testament? It differs considerably from the "New" Testament!

.
Reply:didnt god change his mind once and regret making humans?
Reply:Amen beautiful everything on this earth will rust.Make treasure in heaven not on earth.
Reply:there is one huge, giant problem I see that I disagree with.

why are you putting faith in "God's Word" instead of in GOD?

no, its not the same thing.

it is MASSIVELY different.

many many christians make a huge mistake, and worship the bible, instead of God.

follow, and have faith in GOD. the book is a book. it is a text in the hands of man. what it says is imperfect, both through imperfect recording, and through the fact it is written in imperfect language. God is not vulnerable to any of these flaws. it is GOD that you should have faith in.

NOT the book.

NOT Jesus.

God alone.
Reply:Amen.

Reply:Great question. ?????????????? You seem to forget that "God's unchanging word" was written by men, and HAS been changed many times over the centuries. You are also incorrect about things losing their usefulness. When those flowers you picked droop and die, they can be spread on the ground as mulch to help more plants and flowers to grow, just like our bodies are SUPPOSED to do when we pass from this life. Our bodies, like the bodies of animals, are to filter into the ground to become nutrients for all plant life, which the animals eat, then we eat the animals and so on. Not to sound to cliche here but it's the circle of life.
Reply:Pray for the peace of Jerusalem: they shall prosper that love thee. Psalms 122:6 God bless you! Cap'n Arlo
Reply:You are right and we have to stand on God's Word. And I love you too and everyone.I'm just going to call you Big because your Name is quite long. But in God's Word I am sure you know this but others may not its in John (5) 39-40.Jesus is speaking and Jesus says You study the scriptures, because you think that in them you will find eternal life. And these very scriptures speak about me! Yet you are not willing to come to me in order to have life. So you can read the Bible a 1000 times But if you do not receive Jesus in your heart you still are not Going to go to heaven. In order to go to heaven You say from your heart Jesus I am a sinner.I believe You died on the cross for me.Jesus please come into my heart and please forgive my sins. And if you said that and meant that then you are stamped with the Holy Spirit and you no longer belong to satan You are a child of God you are born again and proof of this is you will have a personal relationship with Jesus and you will listen and obey Jesus' voice the best you are capable of,.You are not perfect but you are forgiven and when God looks at you He sees Jesus. You will be hungry to find out what God's plan is for your life. You will want to be filled with the Holy Spirit so you may have power to witness. You are a new creature in Christ Jesus Our Lord and Savior and you will live forever and ever. You are a citizen of heaven.
Reply:How come God told me he'd sooner give a leg to an amputee than grant my prayers' requests?
Reply:All very true. Yes, God did change his mind once, and regretted making humans, but we are not his Word. Must show how much potential there is in us: that we can even affect God, and spoil His creation. Consider in your travels that Jesus Christ was the Word of God; God sent us the Word; Jesus gave us the Word. And now we've heard it, and can believe, or die in our sins (which means that our sins are on our own head, and not his).

My own impression is that very few people were holding up under their sins; and, whereas David could not die for his son's sins: "II Sam′u??-el 18:32-33 And the king said unto Cū′shi?, Is the young man Ab′sa-lom safe? And Cū′shi? answered, The enemies of my lord the king, and all that rise against thee to do thee hurt, be as that young man is. 33 ? And the king was much moved, and went up to the chamber over the gate, and wept: and as he went, thus he said, O my son Ab′sa-lom, my son, my son Ab′sa-lom! would God I had died for thee, O Ab′sa-lom, my son, my son!", God could, and did!

God kills and quickens whomsoever He pleases; yet none are dead to Him.
Reply:Well there are so many words attributed to this mythical entity that I guess something can be found for any occasion, a bit like a bumper book of quotations.
Reply:True, God's promises stand forever, but unfortunately humans broke the promise God made with us. Good thing God is merciful and understanding that we are just human/sinner.

True that we have to build our faith through His words or else we will fall and far away from Him.

for shoe lasts
