Are there any ways to give my room a new look?

im a 14 year old girl and i like to keep my room a nice place to get away from it all. I like to keep it fresh and as contemporary as possible. Besides repainting it or changing around the furniture are there any other ways i can give it a new look? Like little things? My room is sky blue and has a flower pattern incorporated into it. You could add throw pillows to the bed. Change your curtains or just add tiebacks to existing curtains, change your lampshade.
Reply:How much you can change, depends on how much you can spend and where you shop. If your walls are blue with flowers, making it seem contemporary is a challenge. I have included the web site for Wal-Mart bedding. For under $100 dollars you could get a bed-in-a-bag set and window treatments to match.... maybe even a throw rug. If you choose a bright solid color or a flashy modern print, that would definitely jazz up your space. If it seems like too much money, try asking for a part of it for a birthday or other gift. One of my girls got a bed-in-a-bag for a teen birthday, and it was something she enjoyed until she went to college. If you are creative, you could also add wall art. Try finding a few funky, big, old frames at garage sales or thrift shops (they'll only be a couple of bucks). Paint them one of the bright colors, like in the bedding, and hang them on the wall using clear fish line..... nothing in them..... just the frame. They make a clean geometric pattern.

Reply:One of my favorite things is to buy a big fake tree and string it with white lights. It makes the room cozy and can even serve as a night light.
