Can you put water into a zinc vase?

Hi there and thanks for looking at my question!

I found a very pretty zinc vase in an Asian store near my home. I am not familiar with the chemical properties of zinc and I was wondering if I could put fresh cut flowers in the vase without having to worry about destroying the vase or poisoning my flowers. Does zinc react with water?

Can you put water into a zinc vase?
Yes, that'll be fine. Zinc is used in a process called galvanising which is used for things like nails to make them more weather resistant.
Reply:i dont think there is anything wrong as i dont feel that zinc react wid water

Reply:zinc react with hidrocloric acid not react with water, I don't think it poisones your flowers.
