Trees green in your hometown yet?

I am sick and tired of brown grass, bare trees, no flowers and a steel grey sky. I bet somewhere in the south the trees are a fresh new green with lots of flowers and greenery. How are the trees coming along in your hometown? Progress report please?

Trees green in your hometown yet?
We live in Texas and the trees are greening up. I like the tender light green leaves as they start to grow. We took an early morning drive and it was so wonderful seeing the trees put on a show. A few early spring flowers are popping up here and there. Lots of light purples and pinks. The daffs are finished and only the green leaves are left. Tulips do not do well here in our western Texas area. A bit too warm during the winters.

I checked our yard and I see a few things pushing up through the soil.

We had a nice showing of wisteria blossoms next door. I'm sure I saw a hummer darting in and out of the blooms. When the wisteria blooms it is spring here in our area.

We plant roses in February, most of them are blooming all over the city. Our next door neighbor has BIG yellow roses. I'm going to have to find out what she planted, I'd love to have at least one yellow rose bush. They sort of look like they might be a climber.

Talking about climbers, we love Don Juan. If you don't have one, please try to get one. You will fall in love with them. Here is a picture:

Hope this helps a little to chase away the blues. Happy gardening to you.
Reply:Mid Atlantic right on the border of Zone 6-7: Cherry trees and Bradford Pear trees are in full bloom. Redbuds are budded out and showing color. Leaf buds are popping out on many of the other varieties of trees.

As for flowers: Daffodils, Violets, Tulips, Pansies, Periwinkle, Hyacinth, Forsythia and Quince are in full bloom.
Reply:I live in Nova Scotia, Canada (zone 5b for you gardeners). No green leaves here yet but my winter aconite is starting to bloom %26amp; my daylillies are starting to poke through. Hopefully the leaves on the trees will be a long soon. I've had enough snow to last me the rest of my life.
