Whats the difference between scented and unscented tampons?

besides...one smells like 'flowers' or 'fresh'....



and...which is better to use?



(i'm just curious.....i use unscented)

Whats the difference between scented and unscented tampons?
Unscented is better to use. I had a women's health class and that was one thing we talked about, scented and unscented feminine products. They say if you use scented producted over a period of time, it could cause female health problems for you later in life. Most of the time I use unscented, but sometimes I'm stuck buying the scented ones. It's still ok to use scented products once in a while.

As with any feminine hygiene protection, you have to change tham frequently



Avoid scented tampon, because the risk of protection is higher. And quite honestly, since the tampons are inside your body, the scented tampons wont make any difference!
Reply:you cant get infections cuz if you could then they wouldnt b leagal to sell but if you have sensitive skin then you might devolope a rash
Reply:Well as you stated, one is scented and one isn't. Some people are sensitive to the tampons with an added scent. This can also trigger infections if irritation occurs. Generally if you keep yourself clean during your cycle, irrigating if possible during the day, wiping really well, and using cleansing cloths will keep you "fresh", and is better than using a scented tampon.

Reply:While I "hear" unscented ones are "safer", I used scented. I do believe it makes a difference in the smell. I've used both and I can definitely tell the difference. Everyone's bodies are different, but I personally have never had any trouble with scented ones.
Reply:scented- you wont smell like blood and junk or baby powder.



unscented- you smell like that.



i use scented bc i think they are better. try them.. if you like them you like them, if you dont you can go bk to non.

Reply:I would go with unscented because the scented ones smell really STRONG! Like perfume! Ew! And there is always a chance of allergies.
