Fresh pick petals for wedding aisle. I'm picking flowers out of my garden.?

My wedding is May 24th. When should I pick the petals and how should I store them. They are to be used scattered down the aisle at our outdoor wedding.

i would pick them maybe two days before and than try putting them in the freezer, experiment with just a few petals. put them in a freezer bag and stick them in the freezer, take them out the next day and see what happens after they unthaw.
Reply:They should be as fresh as possible, pick the flowers the day before and refigerate them with the powder from a florist and put them in water. Have someone pluck the petals off 1/2 hr or so prior to scattering them. It would be a very wise thing to delegate this task to someone you trust rather than doing the work yourself. Also, contact a florist as they may have tips or additional products that will help. It's important to keep things as fresh as possible because stepped on wilted petals just aren't the same - especially roses are very sensitve and turn brown fast.
Reply:Pick them as close to wedding as possible. You want them to look good still.

If you must pick them sooner put them in a zip-lock bag and place them in your freezer.

Thats what floral delivery people do!
