Need help with centerpiece ideas!!!?

We are getting married this summer and our colors are black and white. Our tables are long tables and not round tables. We are torn on what to do and time is running out. We were going to do a 24inch tall empire vase on each table with white fresh flowers since we are having black linen on the tables. Can you help us out with other ideas also? We have candles and etc for the tables but are strictly torn on the centerpieces.

Need help with centerpiece ideas!!!?
I would suggest trying to get fresh flowers from Sams Club or Costco. They have several different types of white flowers for you to pick from. For my wedding in May of this year I am doing fish bowls of hot pink gerbera daisies on the center of each table.
Reply:I would use at least two centerpieces per table. This will create a much better balance than using a single one in the middle of the long table. The white flowers will look absolutely beautiful with the black linens. Good luck!
Reply:Laying white petals all along or white gerber daiseys would be really neat!
Reply:How about a Black %26amp; White woven table runner and your 24 in empire vase with black twigs and white lights wrapped around them. You can use the battery pack lights and cover them up inside the bottom of the vases. That way you have a texture on the table and texture in the vases.

maybe something like that
Reply:If the tables are long not round, a single centerpiece might get lost. You might be better off with a series of small arrangements. A small, low arrangement (say a single, perfect orchid floating in a small glass bowl) and a few small candles placed, say, every other place setting could be really lovely.
Reply:How about some of these? (exchange the flowers and colors you're working with into these ideas)

Reply:** Here are some ideas:

- have 3 smaller cylinder vases of different sizes - fill the bottom 1/4 with coloured stones - then add water and place a floating candle on top.

- OR you could get a unique vase and fill it with jelly (coloured or clear) then place 2 or 3 long flowers in the vase

Hope that gives you some ideas!
Reply:Well, with the long banquet tables the tall centerpieces that you are thinking of would look beautiful. I am not sure how many tables you are having or how long they are, etc. but if you have a few very long tables it won't take that many centerpieces to dress it up...but just remember, you want to make them tall on the top because you don't want to block people's view from across the table.

Here are a few pictures that you can look at. It might give you some good ideas. Good luck to you! :)

Or you could always due something like this will tall candles. You could get the candles in black and tie white ribbons around the holders, or vice versa

This is also a neat idea...you could use black candles and white orchids

Reply:on long tables there's often not much room for all the plates etc. and large centerpieces so I think you're wise for going for the tall vases and candles. Less is more!

You could have one larger vase for the center of the table with the same flowers or more 'showy' flowers. e.g. have roses in the other vases and orchids or deliahs for the center vase. Or put a totally different colour in the center vase e.g. red, pink.

Or you could find nice black candle holders (like those tall antique-style ones or the candelabras) and put white candles in those for the centerpiece.

See here for pics of what I mean:

I like the idea of a white table runner down the middle of the table to break up the black linen a bit too.
