Silk/ latex wedding bouquets??
I'm not buying the bouquets pre-made, but I've made the bouquets out of good silks. I like them because, in addition to saving money, they're done and I don't have to worry about them. I also don't have to worry about not getting what I want. I just played around with them until I got something I loved.
Reply:Good quality silk flowers aren't that much cheaper than fresh flowers, unless you get them on sale. But where you save money is on florist fees. If you buy silk flowers at Hobby Lobby or Michael's when they are on sale and put the bouquets together yourself (easier than you'd think), you'll save money and a lot of stress, because you can do them months in advance, whereas the florist has to do them just a day or 2 beforehand. I did all the flowers for my sister's wedding and they looked amazing! Everyone commented on the beautiful bouquets, and the flowers loked so real that people kept coming up to me at the reception to smell them lol We added a drop of rose scented oil to a few of the flowers just for effect. :)
Plus, my sister can keep her bouquet forever.

we used silk for almost everything, we did use some fresh baby's breath for center pieces and we also had some tall rose bud vases on the cookie, gift, favor, and place card tables.
most people couldn't tell the difference.
look for quality flowers and pick a general color palet, that way you can look around for flowers you like taht will compliment your wedding instead of hunting for nice silk hydragas in light purple for example.
Reply:before i thought of going for silk flowers but i changed my mind.
first i've seen the fake flowers and even though they did look really nice they looked fake. Plus they are not so cheap like i though they were so it's not like i would be saving so much money. I live in nyc and there is a wholesale flower store where i could get real flowers for a great price. Alot of people tell you that they they look the same in pictures but they don't you could definetely see the difference from real and fake flowers in pictures.
Reply:I'm having silk flowers and they look fantastic. Bouquets for me and 7 girls....$120 total. Because I went with silk I chose smaller flowers, an array of wildflowers because they look much more real. Unless you touch them, you'd never know they were fake, god's honest truth.
And personally, I cannot fathom spending hundreds of dollars on real flowers for ONE DAY that just die and get thrown away, but its up to you.
Reply:I used silk when I got married, year ago. Now I am thrilled to say that my daughter is using the exact same bouquet in her wedding next summer. Silk holds up so well. You won't have to worry about them drooping with the hot weather. Plus just place your bouquet in a nice vase after your wedding for a beautiful reminder of your wedding day. Who knows, maybe someday your daughter can carry your bouquet in her wedding!

Personally I used silk flowers. I used good quality, I did save money and I still have my bouquet. (Which looks beautiful and it looks real!)
You may want to consider silk for your bouquet and real flowers for your bridesmaids. See what they think, maybe they would want silks to keep too.

Reply:I like the thought of artificial because they can be kept as memories. My good friend still has hers and they are so beautiful. She has them set up with her champagne glasses and guest sign in plate and a picture of the wedding party.

Reply:I made my cenerpices out of silk flowers and I loved them! Most people didnt even notice until they picked them up to take them home.
Reply:I had silk flowers... they were not worth it... wate of mone... go with fresh real flowers...the pictures will be nicer.....
